Customers cannot touch, try or measure a product in an online store. That leads to hesitation, lost sales and returns that cost more than they appear to.
With 3D scanning and AR, we solve that. Your customers can rotate the product, see it from every angle and place it in their own room at real scale, directly in their mobile browser, no app required.
What is 3D scanning and AR for e-commerce?
3D scanning means we create a photorealistic digital model of your physical product, with exact proportions, materials and textures. That model is then published in your online store as a rotatable 3D view, or activated as Augmented Reality (AR) where the customer holds up their phone camera and sees the product placed in their own room at real scale.
Customers cannot touch, try or measure a product online, and that leads to hesitation, lost sales and high return rates. With AR, we close that gap.
See how AR works
Our AR solution is built for e-commerce businesses that want to give their customers an experience beyond the ordinary. By letting visitors place the product in their own home environment before they buy, you reduce returns, increase conversion and build stronger trust in your store.
It works directly in the mobile browser, no app required. The customer taps “View in AR”, holds up the camera and sees the product at real scale in their own room. They can walk around it, change the angle and assess whether it fits, just like in a physical store, but from home.
For products where size, material and placement determine the purchase decision, this is the difference between a customer who hesitates and a customer who places the order.

How does it work in practice?
The process is simpler than most people expect. You do not need to rebuild your online store or bring in an internal technical team. We handle the entire chain, from scanning to publishing.
Step 1 – Review and selection (day 1) We go through your product catalogue and identify which products have the most potential. These are products where size, placement or the look of the material influences the purchase decision.
Step 2 – 3D scanning (days 1–3) Products are scanned with precision equipment. A standard product, such as a lamp, chair or bag, takes 1–3 hours to scan depending on complexity and level of detail. You can either ship the products to our studio in Lund, or book an on-site visit if the volume justifies it. We work with e-commerce businesses across Sweden.
Step 3 – Retouching and optimisation (days 3–7) The raw model is processed, surfaces are adjusted and the file is optimised for the web. The result is photorealistic without being weighed down by file size.
Step 4 – Publishing and AR activation (days 7–10) The model is published in your online store. Customers can rotate the product freely, zoom in on details and, with a single tap, see it in their own environment via the phone camera. No app required. It works directly in the browser on iOS and Android.
From decision to live 3D product typically takes 1–2 weeks per batch, and we can handle multiple products in parallel to shorten lead times.
What do you get out of it?
Fewer returns
Returns cost more than the shipping. Handling, quality control and time all add up quickly. Research in e-commerce shows that AR-enabled product pages can reduce return rates by up to 40 percent for product categories where size and placement matter. When customers have already been able to try the product digitally and see that it fits in the right environment, they make a more confident purchase decision before they click buy.
Higher conversion rate
Visitors who interact with a 3D or AR view convert on average 20–35 percent better than those who see standard product images. They spend longer on the page, engage more deeply with the product and have fewer doubts at checkout. Swoshpots, which already uses our AR solution, saw noticeable improvements in exactly these metrics.
Stronger purchase confidence
The most important effect of AR is psychological: the customer no longer has to guess. They can see the product at the right scale, in their own home, in their own lighting. That eliminates the uncertainty that otherwise stops the purchase, and a purchase made with confidence leads to happier customers and fewer complaints afterwards.
Clear differentiation
Most online stores still show flat product images on a white background. 3D and AR remain a strong signal of premium quality and innovation, which strengthens your brand and gives you a concrete advantage over stores that do not offer it.

Which product types work well, and which do not?
It is a question we get often, and the answer depends on the product’s characteristics.
Works well:
- Furniture, lamps and home accessories: the customer wants to see scale and style in their own space
- Bags, shoes and accessories: shape and material are key to the purchase decision
- Outdoor products, sports equipment and garden items: size and placement matter
- Electronics and office equipment: the customer wants to understand how the product takes up space in the room
Works less well (but possible with extra processing):
- Transparent materials: clear glass and plastic reflect light in ways that require specialist handling and longer scan times
- Very soft textiles: cushions and loose fabrics do not hold their shape during scanning without support
- Very small details: jewellery and objects under five millimetres require specialist equipment and take longer
We always review your product catalogue before a project and tell you directly what works, what is challenging and what it costs. No surprises afterwards.
Who is it for?
Our 3D and AR service is the right choice if you:
- Run an online store selling furniture, home decor, lighting, fashion, sports or similar product categories
- Have a return rate you want to reduce and suspect that unclear product images are a contributing factor
- Sell products where the customer needs to understand scale, placement or the look of the material to make a decision
- Want to differentiate from competitors who are still relying on flat images
- Do not have internal resources for 3D production and need a partner who handles the entire process
You do not need to be a large player. We work with mid-sized e-commerce businesses that want to take the next step in their product presentation without building an in-house studio.
